Family,
We had a pretty cool week. Lots of meetings so we didn't have too much time to work. We had interviews with the mission president. They were good, but took forever. We also had the chance to do a companionship study with President and Sister Reeves. That was pretty cool, Sister Reeves commented, that she liked the way I was teaching. I guess she understood my Spanish. We were practicing teaching the ten commandments. When I was teaching 'Keep the Sabbath day Holy', I said we only rest from temporal labors on Sunday. Sunday is our day to work spiritually. She thought that was clever. I realized that when I was thinking to myself, "Hey, when's my day of rest?" That's when I realized I didn't have any. I have to work everyday. [12-hour days] It's a good thing that as Dad says "Work is good for you".
This week we were driving to visit a lady we had been teaching. We didn't have an appointment. I wasn't paying attention and I missed the turn, so we decided to just check on some other potential investigators that were straight ahead instead. When checking on them, some man asked us if we had any literature. We talked for a while about the Restoration, Joseph Smith, and the Book of Mormon. He said he was interested and would read from the Book of Mormon we gave him. Then as we were heading back, the lady we were originally going to see called us and said she had a little bit of time, and wanted us to come over. We were ten feet outside her house, so we went in and taught a lesson.
I thought the Spirit worked by bringing things to your remembrance, but this time it worked by bringing things to my forgetance (if that's a word). I can see a lot of the hands of the Lord in our work. And usually he uses things we do wrong to his own advantage. He's a lot smarter than us, that's for sure.
Hasta Luego,
