Family,
Wow that was a lot of blog on
Philmont. Looks like everything is going well over there.
This week definitely wasn't as quiet. On Friday and Saturday there was a huge dance festival. All the missionaries were asked to help. I helped park cars, and got to keep the parking sign and the parking tag they gave me. There were 12 stakes at the Dance Festival. It was held at the University of
Redlands.
Redlands is the zone right next to ours. I saw some people from Riverside there, and lots of the youth were in the show. There were even missionaries from some of the neighboring missions like San
Bernadino. That was big, and definitely not quiet.
Efrian had his baptismal interview and there are a few things still holding him back. Occasionally he drinks and he said he would stop but hasn't yet. Also even though he says he knows the Book of Mormon is true he says he doesn't have a testimony of Joseph Smith. So we are still working with him.
Marcos and Susanna were moving down the street on Sunday so they didn't come to church. Last week when we came over for our appointment we were a little late and Susanna was reading the Book of Mormon. Shes in second
Nephi. Marcos is the one we need to work with more now. They're close to- just not quite there yet.
Although the
Pachecos came to church.
Gracelia the Mom wants to be baptised, and hopefully the rest of the family will follow suit.
The other day while
tracting my eyes were hurting earlier that day so I had taken out my contacts. I knocked on the door and someone walked forward but was still behind a screen door. In the light it looked like the person had some kind of beard. So I said "Hello, how it going today, sir". Then she answered "good", but with an angry look on her face.
Then I just sort of muttered "oh sorry". That threw me off
so much I just had Elder
Crump finish talking to her. That's the last time I'll tract without contacts.
And later there was a guy who had a No Soliciting sign. We knocked on his door and he said "Can't you read the sign". I said "We're not
solicitors". Then he said he felt bad for us because we couldn't read. I thought it was pretty funny that a man would say something ridiculous like that to us.
So things are still hopping.
